Elections
- How do I check registration and my name on the electoral roll?Check the electoral roll itself. An identity card and an entry on the roll are not the same thing.
- How do I read a candidate's affidavit?Read what a candidate disclosed, when it was disclosed and what the disclosure does not establish.
- How do votes become seats?Winning a constituency and winning most votes across the country are different calculations.
- How can I compare candidates without a popularity contest?Use the same questions and comparable records. Keep your own priorities visible.
- Who runs different elections? The election authority depends on the office being elected. A municipal election and a Lok Sabha election are not administered through one interchangeable system.
- Who pays for parties and campaigns?Annual party accounts, donation disclosures and election spending statements answer different questions. Comparing them as one total can produce a false conclusion.
